Printed on the Kelmscott Press was created for Modern Art Oxford by British artist Jeremy Deller (b. 1966, London) to accompany his critically acclaimed exhibition, Love is Enough: William Morris & Andy Warhol, which drew together iconic and rarely seen works by these two giants of the 19th and 20th centuries.
This unconventional combination of artists’ work was curated by Turner Prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller, who cites Morris and Warhol as his two greatest artistic influences. Deller drew many surprising connections between the two artists, including that Morris and Warhol both established printmaking businesses and distributed their work through new forms of mass production.
In a combination of two text colours on four different neon papers, each edition has been hand printed at William Morris' famous Kelmscott Press, which was founded in 1890 with the hope of reviving the skills of hand printing. Due to the hand made nature of the work all editions vary slightly in colour.
Exclusively made for Modern Art Oxford, our artist editions are often created to accompany a major exhibition in the galleries. Modern Art Oxford is a charity and all proceeds from the sale of these works directly support our exhibition and education programmes. All editions come with a certificate of authenticity.
