This catalogue was published jointly by the Rabindranath Tagore Festival Committee and the Museum of Modern Art, Oxford, on the occasion of the 1986-1987 touring exhibition Rabindranath Tagore: A Celebration of His Life and Work.
The publication considers Tagore's life as a poet, dramatist, novelist, short story writer, essayist, painter (he started painting at the age of nearly 70), song composer, philosopher and educationist and includes 13 essays and a section dedicated to full colour reproductions of his paintings.
