Simon & Tom Bloor (b. 1973) are an artist duo based in Birmingham and London. Their work uses a range of media including sculpture, installation, drawing and publications. Taking cues from the visual language of mid-20th century art and design, their interest is in reactivating historic moments of utopian potential and flawed idealism

Simon and Tom Bloor’s edition for Modern Art Oxford was produced to accompany their 2010 exhibition Hit & Miss, a commission for Modern Art Oxford’s Yard space in which the artists explored post-war British landscape design through a maze-like structure made of painted wooden ‘hit and miss’ fencing, a common feature in postwar British building. The fencing also acted as a support for reworked posters selected by the Bloors from Modern Art Oxford’s exhibition archive in which they replaced the original artists names with their own, irreverently inserting themselves into the exhibition history of Modern Art Oxford.
